The 6-episode documentary “The Half Off” can be considered as the first political documentary of the war between Iran and Iraq. This film actually contains interviews with high-ranked officials and authorities in war time such as the head of defense assembly “Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani”, the head of defense commission of the parliament, “Hassan Rohani” , deputy of the foreign affairs minister, “Mohammad Javad Larijani”, the chief of Soldiers’ Army (Sepah Pasdaran), “Mohsen Rezai”, and also some other high-ranked political and military authorities, and in a way, attempts to answer some questions less frequently asked or at least to clarify them. First, could it have been possible to prevent from the war? Second, why did the war continue after Khoramshahr was set free and could it have been possible to stop the war at that point? Third, were the entire facilities in the service of military forces? And who in the system was opposing the continuation of the war? Fourth, why was the Resolution N.598 by the UN to end the war accepted at that specific point of time by Iranian government?
