In January 2011, Africa witnessed the first separation in 21st century and birth of a new country in north of the continent. Sudan which is the biggest country in Africa faces the longest civil war in history, eventually, holds a referendum in the beginning days of this year and loses around one third of its lands and as a result some months later in July, the new country called “the Southern Sudan” officially appears in geographical maps. This 5-episode documentary is an analytic and historical story which has been produced simultaneously with the division referendum in south and north of the country and its main goal is to inspect roots of the conflict in Sudan with an approach toward the history of 50 years of civil war and external and internal interferences in the country. In this series, opinions and attitudes of several scholars, media experts and official authorities from southern and northern Sudan toward the issue have been brought about and discussed fully.
